Louis Vuitton Heads to South Africa

See? I told you fashion houses are following the trend of merging their spring campaigns with nature and wildlife. The latest to do so is French fashion house Louis Vuitton. The newly released images of their S/S '14 resort and ready wear collection were shot by photographer Peter Lindbergh, and star Karen Elson and Edie Campbell.

The real star of course was the bucolic landscape of South Africa and the cheetah and giraffe that were used for the shots. I guess they "make" these photographs look Africa-esque. I hope you read my sarcasm in that sentence. The campaign, titled "Spirit of Travel" is actually a nod to Vuitton's collaboration with legendary photographer Jean Larivière. Larivière began shooting for Louis Vuitton in 1978, adding their logo to bucolic landscapes from Greenland to Yemen, Thailand to Nepal.

Check out this dope history of the fashion house on Voguepedia. It would have been dope if they added some diversity in these shots. NOT because she's African in ethnicity, but Lupita Nyong'o would have done these photos JUSTICE honey.

Editorial Nature: Chloé S/S 14 Campaign

If you can't already tell, I'm a step past a nature enthuse. I find peace, serenity and creative energy in anything remotely related to the outdoors. 

Recently, French fashion house Chloé released their editorial images for their Spring 2014 campaign and let me say they did not disappoint. Effortlessly merging fashion and a gorgeous landscape, the campaign is reminiscent of vintage '70s vinyl covers. French singer Lou Doillon and German supermodel Julia Stegner were chosen to model for fashions while Dutch fashion photography pair Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin shot the campaign.

The Outside Aesthetic - Michelob ULTRA's 2014 Spot

Everyone seems to be using the "go outside" slash "back to nature" aesthetic to promote their products. The latest is Michelob Ultra's 2014 TV spot in which young, hot men and women are skiing, campfire side, mountain trekking and other various and sundry outdoor activities with Michelob in hand of course. 

Not complaining though. I'm all about the millenials return to nature.
